Quick update on new music by GJART:

Track 1 - 'Sometimes'. Complete except we are now not 100% happy with the bridge to the chorus - so revisiting this at the moment.
Track 2 - 'Love'. Complete and being mixed right now.
Track 3 - Untitled. Demo complete but further progress delayed due to me having had a heavy cold.

Hopefully will be sharing new music in the next few weeks :-)

One of the reasons there was greater activity at the start was FOMO (fear of missing out) People were buying lots of creator coins so you'd better have been on the site if you wanted yours bought too. It was a key differentiator to FB et al. The introduction of NFTs changed the dynamic. Funds switched to NFTs not creator coins and elevated CH as the place to avoid FOMO. To increase site activity we need on-chain FOMO again: competitions, airdrops, rewards for tasks/consistency - because money motivates the widest audience.

There are ~3000 daily active users, so even if it were the same 3,000 every day, only 10% voting is disappointing 😞

We're at 264 - will prob close out under 300. There are ~1K 10+ action accounts DAU, so we're looking at about 25% involvement

Love this! Crowd sourcing ideas and improvements. This is how it should be done Core Team ;-)

My additions:

- factor in an account's rolling 14 day average of # of 'replies to other posts' vs 'their posts' e.g. those that reply 4+ times more than they post get rewarded for not just broadcasting.

- once an account has been in the Hot Feed in any 24 hour period, the engagement threshold for it to appear again is raised each time.

🔥 Hot Feed Ideas:

* Weight transactions types differently, So 1 💎 = 2 💬, 1 💬 = 2 quotes, and a 0.1 * (like+reclout)

* Dont incl engagement by poster

* Add a "dont break the chain" where users that have been active for XX consecutive days get a small boost in the hot feed. Eg add extra 10% for each day they are consecutively active.

* Give new users a boost, eg day 1 boost by 10, posts from day 2 by 5, etc etc.

* Add an option to allow min DeSo locked for engagements to count

* Reduce enagegement score by number of followers of the poster

This is exactly the transparency needed. Secondly, I appreciate how difficult it is to automate something that is both subjective & bot-resistant.

That said, this is not the answer. In summary the algorithm means that those with the funds to invest heavily in DESO will automatically be curating the feed through their activity.

Unless you get lots of small accounts to engage with your post, which will be very hard if you are never in the Hot Feed, just 1 ‘like’ from a Whale is going to trump these. Accounts with modest means, providing a rich stream of content, are just going to give up.

Further, it will breed bad behaviour such as everyone tagging ‘big’ accounts hoping that they will get interaction. This will be a turn-off for them too.

IMHO there is only 1 solution, it has to be curated manually against a set of community agreed standards. Creator Fund?
